Nexum runs on a small cluster of dedicated home computers — typically two or three compact machines that sit in a closet or on a shelf. Total hardware cost for a complete setup is well under $400. A single small home computer is enough to get started.
No. Nexum is designed to run entirely on your home network with no cloud subscription required for core features. The AI assistant connects to the Claude AI service for language tasks — that is the only outside connection, and even that can be swapped for a fully on-device option.
Currently supported: Narwal robot vacuum, Vizio TV, Amazon Echo/Alexa, Honeywell smart thermostat, Bambu 3D printer, Z-Wave and Zigbee devices, and more. If you have a device you'd like added, let us know.
